“El modelo neodesarrollista ha mostrado su agotamiento, especialmente a partir de la oposición de los sectores burgueses que alguna vez lo apoyaron. A la par de la crisis económica internacional, las economías locales dejaron de crecer, volviendo imposible que la distribución del pastel no redunde en la pérdida de alguna de las partes. Los burgueses no quieren perder nada. El proyecto del ALBA reveló sus limitaciones, especialmente a partir de la nueva crisis de los precios del petróleo y las concomitantes dificultades económicas de los países que lo lideraban. Respecto de los movimientos populares, todavía no salimos del largo período histórico de reflujo del movimiento de masas, aunque quizás con la honrosa excepción del pueblo boliviano. De todos modos, todavía no hemos logrado generar, en ninguno de nuestros países, un acumulado de fuerzas suficientes como para lanzar un nuevo período de ascenso del movimiento de masas. Y las masas son las únicas que pueden torcer la correlación de fuerzas, en la lucha de clases local y continental. Y como se ve, aunque más compleja y dificultosa, la lucha de clases se desenvuelve cada vez a nivel continental e internacional.

Claudio Katz es Economista y Doctor en Georgrafía por la Universidad de Buenos Aires. Se desempeña como docente en las facultades de Filosofía y Letras y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de Buenos Aires y es Investigador Principal de CONICET. Es autor de Bajo el imperio del capital (Luxemburg, 2011), entre otras obras vinculadas a la geopolítica, la economía y la teoría marxista. Participa del colectivo Economistas de Izquierda (EDI).
